In the midst of my snapfish-a-thon, which consists of me compiling albums and printing out over 2 years of pictures and organizing them into albums, I came across this CD which my midwife had made for me, with photos from Liam's birth. What a treat to revisit with new eyes, I had not seen these photos since the month after his birth, and what warm memories they bring to my heart.

How beautiful! So glad you got your happy ending!
I love the pictures that midwives/doulas take! I treasure mine. They are able to catch the moment that you first see your baby-- your remember it, but you also get to see the look on your face. Picture 4 says it all. Thank you for reminding me of that sweet moment in life.
Carol - instant tears. Wow! BTW - I got my first local, recent loss call yesterday. I guess our outreach is working...
So beautiful!! Thank you for sharing these with us all!!
Little Liam! I agree that #4 is IT, it's just perfect. Be well, my friend.
Sorry I didn't know where else to put this...
A client just hired me for doula services, and she mentioned her sister just lost her baby 2 weeks ago. They think that since the baby was so active it twisted it's cord some how.
You were the first person that came to mind.
Her sister isn't really in my area, but I figured if nothing else I could give her your contact info if you wouldn't mind sharing that with me.

I can still feel the swell of love for the photos our CNM took during my c-section.
I was so, so, so unhappy with this CNM, one of 3. She was my least favorite and what had started as a positive labor with the "good" one had turned to an unexpected birth with the "bad" one.
All that was forgotten some weeks later when I developed our film and saw the shots she took as E was lifted from my belly. I'm glad someone was able to snap those first shots of his entry to this world
